사고 경위와 원인을 밝히는데 있어서 현재 가장 중요한건, 비행기 안에 있던 블랙박스인데요.


국토부는 2개의 블랙박스가 오늘 오후 3시 쯤, 김포공항에 있는 시험분석센터로 보내져 현재 상태 확인 작업을 진행하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.


블랙 박스는 비행기록 장치와 음성기록장치 이렇게 두 가지가 있는데, 일단 두 개의 블랙박스 가운데 FDR, 즉 비행기록장치의 외관이 훼손된 상태라고 국토부는 설명했습니다.


안에 담긴 데이터까지 훼손이 된건지, 또 훼손이 됐더라도 복원이 가능한지 여부 등은 시험 분석센터의 정밀 분석이 진행돼야 확인이 가능할 것으로 보입니다.


사고 비행기와 충돌한 콘크리트 구조물, 즉 착륙 유도 시설의 적정성 여부도 현재 논란이 되고 있는데요.


국토부는 제주공항과 여수공항 등 다른 국내공항에서도 콘크리트 등을 이용해 구조물의 위치를 높인 사례가 있고, 해외에도 이런 사례가 있다고 설명했습니다.


다만, 국내 규정이나 해외 규정을 추가로 검색해, 문제가 있는지 여부를 살펴보겠다고 덧붙였습니다.


국토부는 이번 항공기 사고 조사에 미국 교통안전위원회와 기체 제작사인 보잉사가 참여할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.


오늘 저녁에 미 교통위원회 관계자 2명과 보잉사 관계자 2명이 입국할 예정입니다.


사고 기종인 보잉사의 737-800시리즈는 현재 우리나라에서 101대가 운영이 되고 있는데요.


국토부는 해당 기종을 운행하는 6개 항공사를 대상으로 엔진이나 랜딩기어 등 주요 계통의 정비이력에 대한 전수 조사도 진행할 계획입니다.


The most critical element in uncovering the cause and details of the accident is the black box on the plane.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT) stated that the two black boxes were sent to the testing and analysis center at Gimpo Airport around 3 PM today, where their current condition is being examined.

The black boxes consist of two devices: the flight data recorder (FDR) and the cockpit voice recorder (CVR). According to MOLIT, the exterior of the flight data recorder is damaged.

Whether the data inside has also been damaged, and if so, whether it can be recovered, will only be determined after a detailed analysis at the testing center.

The appropriateness of the concrete structure that collided with the accident plane—specifically, a landing guidance facility—is also under debate.

MOLIT explained that similar cases of raising the height of structures using concrete exist at other domestic airports, such as Jeju and Yeosu airports, as well as overseas. However, they added that they would further review domestic and international regulations to determine if there are any issues.

MOLIT also announced that the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Boeing, the aircraft manufacturer, will participate in the investigation of this aviation accident.

Two representatives from the NTSB and two from Boeing are scheduled to arrive in Korea this evening.

The aircraft involved in the accident, Boeing's 737-800 series, is currently operated by 101 planes in South Korea. MOLIT plans to conduct a comprehensive inspection of maintenance records, including engines and landing gear, for the six airlines operating this model.
