Squid Game 2' becomes Netflix's global No. 1 just one day after release

넷플릭스 오리지널 시리즈 '오징어 게임' 시즌2가 공개된 지 하루 만에 전 세계서 가장 많이 시청된 콘텐츠로 집계됐다.

28일 온라인 콘텐츠 서비스 순위 집계 사이트 플릭스패트롤에 따르면 '오징어 게임 2'는 전날 기준으로 넷플릭스 TV 프로그램 부문 전 세계 톱(TOP)10에서 1위에 이름을 올렸다.

국가별 순위를 보면 미국, 프랑스, 멕시코, 영국, 홍콩, 터키 등 총 92개국서 1위를 기록했다. 플릭스패트롤에서 시청 기록을 집계하는 93개국 중 뉴질랜드를 제외한 모든 나라에서 가장 많이 시청한 콘텐츠로 꼽힌 셈이다.

26일 공개된 '오징어 게임2'는 시즌1에서 목숨을 건 게임의 최종 우승자가 돼 상금 456억원을 받았던 성기훈(이정재 분)이 다시 게임의 세계로 돌아가면서 벌어지는 이야기를 그린다.

시즌1은 공개된 지 이틀 만에 넷플릭스 TV 프로그램 부문 전 세계 톱(TOP)10위권에 진입했고, 8일 만에 1위를 차지했다. 이후 총 106일 동안 10위권을 지켰다.

시즌2가 지난 시즌을 뛰어넘는 성적을 낼 수 있을지 귀추가 주목된다.


The Netflix original series Squid Game Season 2 became the most-watched content worldwide just one day after its release.

According to FlixPatrol, an online platform that tracks content rankings, Squid Game 2 ranked No. 1 in the Netflix TV program global Top 10 as of the previous day.

Looking at country-specific rankings, it claimed the top spot in a total of 92 countries, including the United States, France, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and Turkey. Among the 93 countries tracked by FlixPatrol, it was the most-watched content in all but New Zealand.

Released on the 26th, Squid Game 2 portrays the story of Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae), who, after winning the deadly games and receiving a prize of 45.6 billion won in Season 1, returns to the world of the games.

Season 1 entered Netflix’s global Top 10 TV programs within two days of release and took the No. 1 spot within eight days. It remained in the Top 10 for a total of 106 days.

Attention is now focused on whether Season 2 can surpass the achievements of the previous season.
