정부와 여당이 내수 부진 타개를 위해 설 연휴 전날인 27일을 임시 공휴일로 지정하면서 찬반 논란이 거세다.

While the distribution and tourism industries welcome the move, hoping it will stimulate consumption, manufacturing companies and self-employed individuals are expressing concerns about disruptions in production and increased labor costs.
중소 신발 업체인 A사는 "해외 주문량이 늘어나고 있는 상황에서 물류회사까지 쉬게 되면 제품 생산에 큰 차질이 예상된다"고 토로했다.
A small footwear company, Company A, lamented, "With an increase in overseas orders, if logistics companies also take the day off, it will likely cause significant disruptions in production."
유통 업계는 반색이다. 대형 유통업체 관계자는 "백화점과 아울렛 매출이 평일 대비 2~3배 증가할 것"이라며 "특히 대형 몰과 교외 아울렛이 수혜를 입을 것으로 기대하고 있다"고 설명했다.
The distribution industry is reacting positively. A representative of a large retail company explained, "Sales at department stores and outlets are expected to increase 2-3 times compared to weekdays," adding, "Large malls and suburban outlets are especially expected to benefit."
정부와 국민의힘은 8일 국회에서 열린 비상경제 안정 고위 당정협의회에서 27일 임시공휴일 지정을 전격 확정했다. 계엄과 탄핵 정국, 항공기 참사 등으로 위축된 소비심리를 되살리기 위한 조치다.

This measure aims to revive consumer confidence, which has been dampened by martial law, impeachment situations, and aviation accidents.
이번 임시공휴일로 기본 6일, 31일 연차 사용시 최장 9일간의 연휴가 가능해진다. 여행업계는 환율 상승과 항공사고 여파로 해외여행 대신 국내관광이 늘어날 것으로 기대하고 있다.
This temporary holiday makes it possible to enjoy a 6-day break or, by taking annual leave on the 31st, a maximum of 9 days off. The travel industry expects an increase in domestic tourism as people opt out of overseas travel due to rising exchange rates and the aftermath of aviation accidents.
전문가들은 "임시공휴일이 단기 내수진작에는 도움이 될 수 있으나 중소기업과 자영업자 부담을 고려한 보완 대책 마련이 시급하다"고 지적했다. 또 "단발성 처방보다 근본적인 경기부양책을 모색해야 할 시점"이라고 강조했다.
Experts point out that while the temporary holiday may help stimulate domestic demand in the short term, it is urgent to devise supplementary measures that consider the burdens on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and self-employed individuals. They also emphasize, "It is time to explore fundamental economic stimulus measures rather than one-time solutions."
